Board of Directors Biographies

Timo Barlow
A Life Coach and writer specializing in perspective and conflict resolution. Volunteers in the Friday drop-in and in the kitchen on Tuesdays. He has seven years experience on the WKNC Board with the last four giving leadership as President of the Board.
Barbara Stone
Director in IT for Bell Canada. Barbara is part of group that secured Mount Dennis Neighbourhood Centre funding.  She has been active in Mount Dennis Community Association including positions as President and Treasurer. Barbara has been on the WKNC Board for three plus years
Doreen Miller
A member of WKNC for nine years Doreen has volunteered in the kitchen preparing and serving meals, in clothing room sorting out donations and managing the choices. On Tuesday evenings Doreen works with the faith groups serving the community meals
Lang Moffat
Lang’s personal mantra is “People Matter.” He is  a founding member of WKNC. Lang served as the first President of the WKNC Board and has been on the Board for over 12 years. He volunteers at the drop-in on Tuesday evenings and is passionate about outreach and serving the community.
Michael Kooiman
Michael is the Minister for Central United Church. He brings WKNC a knowledge of Board governance, continuity and United Church policy. Michael volunteers in kitchen on Tuesdays and has been a Board Member for six years including being Secretary and Vice President.
Sylvia Hampton
A retired nurse and Rotarian. A Board Member for nine years with responsibilities for membership, an annual organizer for the AGM, VP for Operations as well as a Monday drop-in volunteer. Actively involved over the years in successfully bringing in financial donations to WKNC.
Wendy Whiteley
A former employee of the Toronto District School Board. Wendy is active in various community organizations.  She has been a Board Member for five years and taken responsibility for membership recruitment, fire drills, police checks and property inspection. She volunteers in the drop-in Tuesdays.
Kenny Stier
Ken knows the community well. He acts as security for the Weston Farmers Market and assists the Weston BIA. Ken served on the Board last year. He is a long time member of WKNC. A keen bowler, Ken is Captain of his bowling team
Jean-Marie Boutot
Learning Enrichment Foundation’s Community Engagement Facilitator, connecting clients to resources in the Mount Dennis community. She volunteers at WKNC and is a member of a WKNC committee. Involved in resident groups, arts organizations, and employment and settlement services
